Your responsibilities 

Team Supervision and Leadership

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance to the team of Automation Engineers and the PI Administrator 

  • Set clear performance expectations, goals, and objectives for the team members 

  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge sharing 

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members 

  • Handover of SCADA/PLC/PI Functionalities: 

  • Coordinate with the Engineering team to facilitate the smooth handover of SCADA/PLC/PI functionalities to the Automation team 

  • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer of system functionalities, configurations, and maintenance procedures 

  • Collaborate with the Automation Engineers to fully understand the system architecture and requirements 

  • System Management and Optimization: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of automation systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and OSIsoft PI 

  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal functionality and reliability 

  • Collaborate with Automation Engineers to develop and implement best practices for system configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting 

  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in automation technology to drive continuous improvement 

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Operations, Engineering, and IT, to align automation initiatives with organizational goals 

  • Act as a liaison between the Automation team and other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration 

  • Participate in meetings and provide technical expertise and insights regarding automation systems 

 

Our requirements

  • Engineering Academic degree (Automation or Electrical) or other related discipline preferred 

  • Automation System Implementation: Hands-on experience in implementing automation systems, including SCADA, PLC, and HMI. This includes designing, programming, and configuring automation systems to meet specific operational requirements 

  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Proven experience in leading and managing a team of automation engineers and administrators. This includes assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment 

  • System Integration and Optimization: Expertise in integrating various automation systems, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange between different components. Experience in optimizing automation processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and productivity 

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues related to automation systems, such as identifying software or hardware malfunctions, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal system performance 

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific industry or sector in which the automation systems are implemented. Understanding industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices is valuable for effectively managing and optimizing automation processes 

  • Practical knowledge of data systems and computer engineering 

  • Strong knowledge and experience in SCADA, PLC, and automation systems 

  • Proficiency in OSIsoft PI system administration and data management 

  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols related to automation, such as OPC, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP 

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices in automation systems 

  • Thorough knowledge of the service-specific software and / or hardware and knows the programming options 

  • Knows the applicable safety, quality and environmental regulations 

  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities 

  • Organizational skills and the ability to meet conflicting deadlines 

  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders and relationship building 

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, preferably in an automation or engineering related field 

  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage resources 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and maintain positive working relationships 

  • Strong sense of responsibility
