What you will be doing
The High Precision Machining Engineer is responsible for the processes and technologies used, as well as, the development and industrialization of new High Precision Machining, Single Point Diamond Turning  (DPT) and associated metrology processes and procedures. Lastly, he is responsible for scouting the market to enhance technologies and processes.
More detailed responsibilities:

  • Continuous improvement

o    Improve the efficiency and throughput of existing DPT and related metrology processes on our two plants in Scotland and Quapaw
o    Work with the production team capture the necessary data from the DPT process
o    Analyze the data provided by the production team to identify opportunities for improvement 
o    Join Root Cause Analysis on high precision machining process issues and help the teams learn from them

  • Process Engineering and Safety

o    Be the process expert on both our plants (FR and US)
o    Design and implement tooling as required
o    Understand dependencies between all work cells and support investigation of the root cause of quality issues across multiple work cells
o    Work with the production team to identify, analyze and rectify process problems
o    Report safety hazards and incidents and implement corrective actions
o    Actively participate in site safety plan and lead safety dialogs

  • Industrialization and Standardization

o    Supervise the industrialization of new processes and technologies within the DPT manufacturing cell
o    Train and coach the operators in the use of the manufacturing and metrology technology
o    Create training content as necessary
o    Support the quality team in the creation of written procedures to document the processes 
o    Assist with liaison between technical team between both plants for new technology and new program transfers

  • Technology development 

o    Identify new and innovative technologies that can improve our high precision machining. Including by: attendance at conferences and exhibitions; review of published papers; and developing a network of contacts within the industry
o    Prepare the justification and capital expenditure requests and be the champion for procurement and installation of the identified technologies
o    Implement and industrialize new and innovative technologies and associated metrology at both our plants. These technologies can improve capacity, capability or safety.

 

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a curious and organized colleague with:
•    An appropriate Engineering Degree (mechanical engineering, machinery, metrology, or other general related engineering Degree) and a passion for Technology.
•    Experience of the use, operation and development of CNC machines is essential, ideally relevant experience of the use, operation and development Diamond Point Turning machines. 
•    A good level of experience in precision metrology methods and practice is essential and ideally a good level of experience and knowledge of precision optical methods and practice.
•    Ability to work as part of matrix structure in a cross functional team. 
•    Demonstrates the use of direct and indirect authority to achieve project goals. Proven project management skills.
•    Understanding of Budgeting and Capital Expenditure. 
•    Solid English and French level (Spoken and written).
•    Job located in France (Acigné).
