What you will be doing

Your mission is to further improve awareness of regulators, rating agencies and general public of thermal imaging as a life saving technology and to develop a consortium of critical automotive supply chain partners!

It will be your task to build a network within the automotive supply chain/consortia and autonomous driving technology providers to identify the right product. You will also assess the economic value of the opportunities and work with the innovation team to introduce our products and development roadmaps.

As our products are aimed at improving road safety and energy efficiency, you will also work with our government affairs department to further deepen our collaboration with EU regulators and rating agencies.

Your detailed responsibilities:

  • Acquire a clear understanding of ADAS/VIPV technologies and market trends.
  • Build a global network within the Automotive industry, throughout and outside the value chain, such as regulators, rating agencies and public opinion makers.
  • Identify and connect to the decision makers and identify potential roadblocks, friction points, roadmap and timelines for the introduction of automotive technologies based on our products.
  • Be the primary contact of our targeted supply chain partners and manage the partner and consortium relationships.
  • Educate the Umicore team on the business environment of the target market segments.
  • Contribute to product development by bringing input from the customers to the R&D and production teams.
  • Build reports and analytical assessments on both the market environment as specific customers.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic plan for Umicore EOM’s product positioning in the automotive industry.

 

Who we are looking for

A hard-working colleague with:

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering in electronics with at least 5 years working experience in the automotive industry.
  • You have an in-depth understanding of ADAS technologies. You are triggered by technology.
  • You have confirmed experience (>3 years) in a techno-commercial or business development role.
  • Open personality, relationship builder and nurturing partnerships.
  • You are a phenomenal teammate with a habit of open and transparent communication.
  • You are an excellent communicator, with good oral and written presentation skills.
  • You are willing to travel frequently, you have an open attitude to other cultures and habits, and you can adapt to these.
  • You are proficient in English.
  • You have an ability to work within a strategy while also building that same strategy.
